Pixar Hotel, Yes Please!

We try to stay at all the Disney hotels to be able to tell you all about them, so when I heard that Disney's Paradise Pier was being rebranded to a Pixar theme I was excited.

From Toy Story to Coco, Pixar has put out so many good movies over the years.  This hotel really pops with color and character.  Let me show you some of the great things they did with this Disneyland hotel.

When I say that it's loaded with character, I'm not kidding.  There are character designs EVERYWHERE!  There were chandeliers with abstract versions of classic Pixar characters, little silver silhouettes in the floor tiles, and large murals of various movies and characters.

We expect this level of theming in Disney World's Value resorts, but I was still very impressed by it all here in Disneyland.  Overall it is a very beautiful hotel with lots of red, yellow, and blue to make it all just POP!

As soon as we walked in, we immediately ran into Bing Bong right there in the lobby.  He is such a rare character to find, I was thrilled!
The decorations really were EVERYWHERE you look!
While Pixar Place is the furthest of Disney's resorts from the Disneyland park, about a 12 minute walk, it's very close to California Adventure.  It even has it's own special entrance into that park.  It was really nice popping right into California Adventure, especially since we were so close to the Cappuccino cart that has those great steak and egg breakfast burritos.

You could take the long way and walk straight into Downtown Disney, which was perfect for our reservation over at Din Tai Fung, or you could always cut through the Grand Californian.

Our room was a good size, with lots more great Pixar details.  They added a lot of USB outlets, which really makes a difference when you need to charge everyone's devices!
It was a  very comfortable stay, the only issue was the new style of elevators that confused a lot of guests.  You just press the button for your floor and it tells you what elevator bay to wait for.   Each elevator would only stop at a few floors of the people riding that specific elevator.   People kept pressing the button repeatedly causing multiple elevators to then stop at their floor even though they were on a different elevator.  Sometimes I do believe some signage with instructions might help people.

One of the coolest features of this hotel has to be the rooftop pool area.

The pool wasn't huge, but it benefitted from having the hot tub be just far enough a way from the pool to relax but still be able to watch the kids.

There was also a great Finding Nemo themed splash pad area with a Crush water slide.  It was really cute that occasionally you would here Crush yell out some of his phrases from the movie.  "RIGHTEOUS!"

You could also rent your own little Cabana's by the pool, in case you needed your own dedicated space.  There weren't a ton of people at the pool, so we were able to grab lounge chairs pretty easily.

I absolutely loved the lounge areas just outside of the pool zone.  There was a lot of comfortable seating, an area for small outdoor games, and some awesome character themed fire pits!

The Small Bytes snack bar had some pretty tasty options.  The kids enjoyed some nachos while I had myself a smash burger.
There was even a nice little band that performed for a bit near the lounge area.
Of course the decor extended to the outside.  There was some great lighting in red, blue, and yellow keeping the hotel lit up at night.

We had a great stay at the Pixar Place Hotel.  If you are wanting to stay at a Disney resort in Disneyland to get that early entry benefit this is definitely the more affordable option.

Thinking of going Disneyland, there are lots of options for where to stay, but it's great vacation for a quick trip or long weekend.  We feel it's often easier than a trip to Disney World.  Let Mouse O'Clock help you plan that next dream Disney vacation.
