It Calls Me...

Of all the Disney World Resorts, there is just a special place in my heart for the Poly.  Disney's Polynesian Resort has all the magic of the Pacific Islands with the convenience of being close to Magic Kingdom.

Of the three Monorail resorts, you just can't beat the Poly for it's theming.  With most of it's room recently updated to a Moana theme, what's not to love.  Let's talk about one of my absolute favorite Disney World Resorts. 

It's hard to beat the convenience of the monorail.  It's probably the quickest way to get to Magic Kingdom, though the Poly does have a boat option.  You can also walk over to the Ticket and Transportation center to ride the Monorail over to EPCOT.

Touches of the Pacific are all over the resort.  If you're going to be in the heat and humidity of Florida you might as well have a beautiful theme to match.  It's all very picturesque.

Since the Poly is one of Disney World's oldest resorts many of its original rooms are just a bit bigger than some other resort rooms.  I love that extra bit of space.  Many of the rooms can sleep up to 5 people.

We love the Moana theming!  We've stayed here a few times and all the rooms have been comfortable and beautiful.  Though where your room is located on the resort can make a big difference as to which amenities you will be close to.  We haven't stayed in the new tower yet, but the rooms look great from what we have seen, though some of the new rooms sleep only 4.

There is no shortage of great food options here at the Poly.  You have their quick service location Captain Cooks for a quick bite to eat.  There's also the Tambu Lounge for some great food options, you can even get some of the food from their other dining locations without the need of a reservation.

Grab some Dole Whip over at Pineapple Linai.  Outside of the parks this is the best spot to grab that sweet Pineapple softserve.

The Kona Cafe is great sit down option if you're looking for a taste of the Pacific.  But the star here is 'Ohana.  This is deluxe dining.  Whether you're looking for a character breakfast featuring Lilo & Stitch or a fantastic Polynesian style dinner, it's GREAT!

The breakfast food options are pretty standard but you're mostly there to meet Stitch, Lilo, Mickey, and Pluto.  Dinner on the other hand has some great eats!  We loved the Shrimp and Steak.  The noodles are a classic.  And there is no way you can skip the Ohana Bread Pudding!

Trader Sam's Grog Grotto is the enchanted Tiki Bar located here at the Poly.  It's family friendly before 8pm, 21+ after that.  There are some great cocktails that come in unique tiki mugs.  Many of the drinks will trigger the cast members to start chanting and bring to life the magic of the Tiki Bar.  Watch the Volcano erupt or the room can get dark and stormy, there's a lot of fun to be had here at Trader Sam's.

There are 3 different pool areas.  The Oasis pool is the pool to relax at if you're looking for peace and quiet.  The new Cove Pool has a zero drop entry and features a new Moana themed splash pad.  I haven't seen the new pool area since that was built along with the new tower building.  

The main pool area is the Lava Pool.  We absolutely love this pool, though it can get crowded.  There's a great little water slide that comes down the side of the volcano.  We usual reserve a break day when we are stay here to take advantage of the Lava Pool.  It's pretty easy to order some food and drinks from the waiters that come around.  It makes for a pretty relaxing way to spend an off day on your Disney vacation.

​The Poly does feature a great beach area, though you are not going in that water!  It is by far one of the best places to sit and watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks and the light parade that comes across the lake.  There are speakers that pipe in the fireworks music, so you get a great experience.  You can even see Cinderella's Castle off in the distance!

We've even splurged to stay Club Level.  The food in the Club Level lounge was AMAZING!  Every time they brought out new food I was simply impressed with the available options.

Disney's Polynesian Resort is definitely an amazing resort to stay at.  You can tell why this is a Deluxe Resort.
