Disneyland puts the Jolly in the Holiday

This was one of our best trips out to Disneyland!  We had an amazing time celebrating the Holidays over in California and surprisingly it wasn't that crowded.  Not going to lie, there were crowds but it was way less than we anticipated.

Disneyland celebrates Christmas from November all the way till January 7th.  We flew in on New Year's Eve and went straight into California Adventure instead of Disneyland.  Disneyland park was going to be way more crowded so we intentionally planned it this way.  Let me breakdown our holly jolly holiday at Disneyland.  Read on for more...

It was nice and chilly during our visit, so we came prepared with warmer clothes.  We even packed some silk undershirts to keep us nice and toasty during our visit.  It sure beats sweating in the summer heat!

Christmas was still going strong here after the 25th of December.  Holiday celebrations were still in full swing, Christmas had not slowed down at all.

Disneyland has so many special treats for the Holidays that the list was a bit overwhelming., on top of California Adventure's Festival of the Holidays which also has a ton of yummy options.  So we had to try as much as possible.

You can buy these great Sip and Savor Passes for the Festival food items.  Each of the 8 tabs can be torn off to pay for a food item.  They cost $56 so it's not a huge saving but it can help if you plan on trying a lot of the special holiday foods.

There were lots of tasty options that we really enjoyed.  That Pumpkin cheesecake was yummy, the Braised Pork Belly Adobo was delicious, and this Impossible Chorizo Queso Fundido was just good!

Many of the booths had tasty drinks too!  Angie really enjoyed this Maple Hazelnut Hot Buttered Rum.  It had a great salted caramel whipped cream, yum!

Disneyland is just great for food.  We tried the new Waffle Monte Cristo, had the breakfast Chimichanga, a Peppermint Ice Cream Sundae... and so much more.  They really know how to do food.  Take a look at the slideshow for all the foods!
We saw several great parades and shows.  Disneyland's parade was huge and of course featured Santa and his reindeer.  Over at California Adventure we got to ring in the New Year watching their Feliz Navidad show with lots of bright colorful cultural dancing.
One of my favorite features of Disneyland at the holidays are the special holiday overlays they do for some of the rides.  The Haunted Mansion Holiday primarily features The Nightmare Before Christmas with Jack Skellington.  It's an adorable change and quite festive.

It's a Small World has it's own special holiday lights on the outside lighting up that whole area of Fantasyland.  But that's not all, the inside is decked out for the holidays!  The usual song is broken up with verses of Dashing Through the Snow.  It's absolutely adorable seeing it all trussed up for Christmas.

And of course we can't talk about Disneyland without talking about all the Characters we ran across!  So many in their holiday attire.  We had so many great character interactions.

Disneyland is in California after all, so they have a lot of great performers.  Look through the next slide show for all of these great characters!!!
We've absolutely grown to love Disneyland over these last few visits.  I grew up in Disney World and it will always be home, but Disneyland is just something else.

We spent 2 days in the Disneyland park and a day and a half over at California Adventure.  Even with the bit of crowds we saw we were able to get around and do everything we really wanted to.

Let us know if you have any questions about Disneyland or any other Disney vacations.  We here at Mouse O'Clock would love to make those vacation dreams come true.
