Boo Bash!

We had a blast at this year's Boo Bash!  This year Disney decided to celebrate Halloween by throwing these Boo Bash events.  For those unfamiliar, Boo Bash is an after-hours ticketed event.  You can enter the park as early as 7pm and goes on till 12am, but honestly we stayed in the park till past 1am on our trip.

Boo Bash isn't cheap at $169 a person, but there is good reason to do this awesome event!  Why would I pay so much for such a short amount of time in the parks? Give me a moment to explain why these After-Hour Disney events are TOTALLY WORTH IT!

It's the only time adults can come to the parks in costumes!  Which is huge for any Halloween loving adult.  Yes kids can come dressed up all year long, but this is your chance.  And honestly some people go all out, so it's fun to see what some guests will come up with.

Disney limits ticket sales for these events, so the crowds are REALLY low.  At 9pm they very efficiently start ushering regular guests out of the park.  No joke, if you don't have the special event wristband Disney Cast members won't let you onto rides and will start roping off areas, leaving you no option but to start leaving the park.

With such a limited crowd the ride times drop down to almost nothing.  Most rides will display a 5 to 15 minute ride time, which is essentially nothing for these rides.  It will take you that long to walk through the attraction to actually get on the ride.  If you want to ride everything in Magic Kingdom with ease, this is an event for you.
It's also a great chance to see Disney characters in their costumes as well as some obscure Disney characters.   It's rare to see these two from Pinocchio, but there they were above us as we entered a candy line.  Yes, there is trick or treating during the Boo Bash.  They even give you a bag for candy as you enter the park.  If you love trick or treating on Halloween, then this event is for you.

Disney goes all out for the baddies on these nights as well.  There are plenty of cavalcade parades going on throughout the night, but the Villains really are the show stoppers!  From watching the mechanical Maleficent dragon roll down the street to the full cast of villains singing their way down Main Street these baddies put on a hell of a show.
While Boo Bash is in full swing there are a few extra perks you get to take advantage of, besides really short ride times.  There's a bevy of free snacks to enjoy!  Popcorn, Mickey Ice cream bars,  bottles of water, and sodas are all free to you during Boo Bash.  You know I had a couple of Mickey Bars and a load of popcorn while we walked around.  I also had to try some of the special event foods like the Foolish Mortal funnel cake.  You know I've got a sweet tooth.

Don't forget to take advantage of the Magic Shots they only offer during the event.  You can only get these special pictures after 9pm once the event starts.  They won't add these special effects ahead of time...   we asked.

Overall there is a ton of Halloween fun to be had at Disney during Boo Bash.  We LOVE Halloween, so it's perfect for our family.

These After Hour events are pretty popular, so we anticipate them being around for a while.  We are looking forward to trying this year's Disney Very Merriest After Hour events later this year.  I'm sure these events will continue to pop up next year, so keep an eye out!  They are also a great way to squeeze more time into a shorter trip.  We like to book these After-Hour events on the day we go to Animal Kingdom since that park closes earlier than the others.  You can get almost the full Magic Kingdom experience squeezed into one night.  You could even take advantage of the night you arrive in Disney to go to one of these events.

Mouse O'Clock is glad to help you book your next trip.  We'll show you how to get all that extra magic out of your next vacation!
