A Treasure at Sea!

Disney just keeps putting out new ships faster than we have time to check them out.  We're back at it with our latest trip on the Disney Treasure.  In the same class as Disney's Wish and it's new sister ship the Destiny, the Treasure is a beautiful ship sailing out of Port Canaveral, FL.  We recently went on a 7 night voyage and are back with tales to tell.  So let's break down everything Treasure.

While the Wish always felt a little stuffy with its focus on the princesses, the Treasure is richly colored on teals and bronzes giving it a more adventurous feel.  The Carpets all over the ship call back to one of our favorite Disney classics, Aladdin!  The statue of Aladdin and Jasmine on the magic carpet in the Atrium is just beautiful!

The Treasure is definitely the ship for fans of the parks.  With several lounges all themed after classic Disney rides, there are lots of great spaces to hang out and get a very thematic cocktail.  With 3 days at Sea we had a lot of time to explore and enjoy the ship, but even then there were somethings I wish we had had more time for.

It's a truly beautiful ship loaded with lots of Aladdin details!
Angie always knows how to find the best rooms, we had a verandah on a bump out, so it was just a bit bigger than your standard verandah.  We had a very cute Finding Nemo themed room.

The various lounges are all pretty great. There's the Scat Cat Lounge, the Skipper Society, the Periscope Pub, and the AMAZING Haunted Mansion Parlor.

The Skipper Society is a great Jungle Cruise themed lounge with some adventurous drinks

The Periscope Pub is the Treasure's Sports Bar.  Best place to go if you are needing to watch the latest in sports games/matches.  The ceiling is a large screen that makes it look like you can see the shadows of fish swimming overhead.

The Scat Cat Lounge was the only Lounge that was listed as 18+ the whole day.  Really cute Aristocats theming.  We had out Chocolate and Liquor Tasting in this one.

The Haunted Mansion Parlor is a MUST!  While the Wish had it's Star Wars Lounge, the Haunted Mansion Parlor blows it away, and that's coming from a huge Star Wars fan.  The spooky vibes and haunted cocktails are just the tip of the iceberg.  Every few minutes the ghosts make themselves known giving you some great spooky effects.  If you want to be around for all of the different spectral visits expect to hang out for a good 45 minutes.

Even then depending on where you are sitting you may not see everything.  Make sure you've got a good view of the mirror behind the bar!
Lots of great effects.  Make sure to collect your death certifcate.

Always find out when they will be serving the coveted Churro Mickey waffles.  It's often only one day of the cruise, so don't miss out.
The Treasure has no shortage of good places to grab a bite to eat.  With Marceline Market as s counter service style buffet for breakfast and lunch.  There's a bounty of options here.
Picture
Mickey's Festival of Foods is the quick service area located near the pools.  You'll find lots of classics from Tacos, Pizza, and Burgers, as well as the unlimited soft serve ice cream.  Open most of the day, it's the best place to grab food in between other plans.

It wouldn't be a Disney cruise without their spectacular rotational dining.  Just like on the Wish we have the Worlds of Marvel Dining Experience and 1923 but instead of Frozen we have Coco as our amazing dinner show experience.
Picture

Some of the best food we had was at Plaza de Coco.  We had an abundance of Mexican cuisine with empanada, tamales, mole', and I even had a cocktail that was made with Mexican Coke.  (Which you can only get with that cocktail, we asked.)

But the entertainment is what makes this dinner great!  You get a little continuation of the story from Coco with a more grown up Miguel coupled with great live performances of classic Mexican songs and music from Coco.

They fixed my biggest issue with the Frozen dinner, its pacing.  There were decent breaks during the performances that allowed you to
just talk and enjoy the food.  You could watch the performance without having it overwhelm the dining experience.  With our 7 day cruise we had 2 great experiences at Plaza De Coco with a different menu each night as well as a different show.
Just like on her sister ships, the Treasure has the Worlds of Marvel dining experience.  Our first dinner here was exactly the same as what we had on the Wish, though some of the cocktails had been updated.  You have the same cute Ant-man and the Wasp story set on the ship with the cute finale and Spiderman showing up too late to help.

Our 2nd night was a whole new experience and menu.  Good food and a new show focused on Rocket and Groot.  In between Groots story we had fun Marvel Trivia displayed on the screens to test your MCU knowledge.  Finishing off dinner with some classic tunes straight from Guardians of the Galaxy.

1923 is the "classy" dinner of the rotation.  The walls and glass cases are filled with art pieces and concept art from many great Disney and Pixar films.  Classic California Cuisine makes for a nice dinner, but without any entertainment sometimes it feels underwhelming.
Picture
There are, of course, a few dining options that aren't included in your cruise.  The ship does boast an adorable Zootopia themed ice cream parlor, Jumbeaux's Sweets.
Picture

The Treasure also has it's two Signature restaurant locations, Enchante and Palo Steakhouse.  We didn't splurge for Enchante this voyage but we did hit Palo for dinner once as well as for a brunch on our sea day.  Some of the best food I've ever had.  Angie had to splurge and order the Japanese A5 Wagyu, because yum!
There is plenty more to do on a Disney cruise than just eat and drink, contrary to all my talk about food.  There are some absolutely fabulous Broadway level performances in the main theater.  The Moana production was absolutely next level.  Just incredible!  We're not allowed to take photos or videos otherwise I'd definitely have some here for you.

Of course you could always spend time by the pool!
Picture
Rather than have 1 or 2 larger pools Disney decided to make multiple smaller pools spread out about the top deck.  With most of them still having a great view of the Funnel Vision movies.

The adults get their own Infinity Pool located on the back of the ship.  While this is a really cool location, it gets crowded very quickly.  We took advantage of a port day to stay on the ship and enjoy.
Our lil Sofia was still to young to enjoy the pools.  Disney is pretty strict about those swim diapers!  So we had a lot of fun taking her to the Toy Story SplashZone.
Disney Cruise ships don't have casinos.  You can still find one or two games of Bingo each day of your cruise though.   Disney does have a few movie theaters on board showing the latest releases from Disney, PIXAR, Star Wars, and Marvel!  We got to watch Hoppers on this trip!
There are a good variety of live entertainment going on around the ship as well.  There are musical groups that perform in the lounges, drawing classes, trivia competitions, game shows, and some pretty unique shows.

The Sarabi lounge turned into the Sarabi Supper Club one evening with a memorable performance of "Choose Wisely" a comedy act focused on our favorite adventurer Indiana Jones!

You could always go on your own adventure hunting digital ghosts hidden across the ship.  The Haunted Mansion Happy Hunt takes you around the ship and interacting with various items all over the ship.  Magic Band+ required, definitely need to have it charged and software up to date to participate.
Picture
Our cruise wouldn't without some time at the Spa!  The Treasure and its sister ships have an absolutely amazing Spa area.  There is a gym for everyone who wants to work out (definitely not our thing.). You can always book a massage or sign up for one of the many services the spa has to offer.

But we love to book the Rainforest Pass that gives you access to the various Saunas, hot tubs, relaxation areas, and, our favorite, the heated ceramic loungers.  I have fallen asleep on those loungers, they are warm and delicious.

They even have a Frigidarium!  It's the opposite of a Sauna, think COLD!
Picture
Picture
Like with all Disney cruises there are lots of chances to meet with characters.  Mickey and Friends are scheduled pretty often, as are the princesses.  You can also occasionally find Marvel and Star Wars characters doing meet and greets over in the kids club areas.
Picture
If you're feeling rather energetic, keep an eye out for the Hero Zone times.  They breakout this huge inflatable obstacle course.  You can race a friends to the end of the Incredi-course!
Picture
Even though this a family vacation, the kids often want to go off and do their own thing.  While Zoey and Niko have aged out of the Oceaneer's Club(age 3-10), they have enjoyed a lot of time in Edge (ages 11-14) and Vibe (14-17).  The Oceaneer's Club and Lab have some really awesome Marvel and Star Wars areas that are worth checking out during Open House.
Picture

Since this was our first cruise with a baby, we took our time enjoying all the baby cuddles on board.  Sometimes you need a break to just go off and be adults again, so we did schedule times to drop Sofia off at the It's a Small World Nursery.
Picture
Picture
Our room steward did a great job making sure that our family had everything we needed for our room.  The pack-and-play and Diaper Genie definitely made things easier with Sofia.

It may be hard to squeeze out a whole week for a cruise but it was totally worth it for the Treasure!  I look forward to checking out Disney's other ships as we have time, but I do hope we get to sail on the Disney Treasure again soon.

As always if you would like any more details or have any questions feel free to reach out to Angie and I for everything Disney.  We love our Disney vacays and want to make sure yours are just as magical.  Whether it's the World, Land, or Cruises, we do it all.

Just remember, When it's time to plan your next Disney vacation:
